dyno results from headers

I know theres 10 different header threads a day, i searched but didnt quite get what I was looking for. does anyone have a dyno chart from their z28 before and after headers were installed? me and this idiot ford guy at work were argueing how much power lt1s can get with longtubes. I said sometimes with the right mods up to 20 hp and he said thats way too high, am I right?? anyone have dyno charts that I could use?

Re: dyno results from headers

Yes, they have, more frequently than not, given around 20RWHP on a mostly stock LT1 car.

Tell your Mustang buddy, that the only thing ford did right from the factory was their exhaust. It isnt choked up with a single like the F-Bodies are, and they have nice factory manifolds. It is typical to get 20 at the wheels with long tube headers and an ORY

some cams can make up to 30 hp, but no matter what size cam it is, to make such hp you have to asist it with the right components, otherwise your time, money, and effort are going to be put into something your expecting so highly of, and its going to fail you, to put it simply, if your going to do performance mods...do them right the first time!

I'm scheduled this coming Saturday morning to have another dyno to see the increase from the GM847 cam install. Will post the results accordingly.

Re: dyno results from headers

On my '95 TA , A4 completely stock #s were 236rwhp/274rwtq.
*
Adding Kooks LT headers w/3" collectors and 3" Pypes cats and true 2.5" duals over the axle, the dyno # now were 276rwhp/298rwtq.
So that's 40rwhp and 24 rwtq added with just bolting on the headers and true 2.5" duals and twin cats! Don't have a softcopy scan of the before and afters, but I can try snapping a pic of the sheets and see if they come out maybe tonight.

It will vary with the mods anywhere from 10hp to 25hp.
