dyno questions

well im going back to the same place that dyno'd my car before and this time i'm driving the thing on the dyno and im going to make sure I get 2 full runs, not just 100-500 rpm pieces of two runs stuck together....

what all needs to be hooked up under the hood of a car to allow it to be dyno'd? Last time they said erratic spark caused half of the graph to be missing. I know I'll put down the same amount of power (or more since it'll read in the rpms were peak power actually occurs) becuase i didn't do anything since then other than decrease the mass of the tires.
i want a full graph!

Re: dyno questions

A sensor on a plug wire is used to measure your rpms. If you had a spark problem, it would make it hard for the computer to calcuate what rpm your engine was at on the dyno. As long as your ignition system is fine you should have no problems.

Re: dyno questions

You need the signal from a plug wire, to get RPM, which is what's needed to measure torque. That's the only thing that needs to be connected under the hood.

Re: dyno questions

make sure thats the only thing going under the hood.. and not a air temp sensor to inflate HP readings.
