Dyno question and valve adjustment question

I have just completed my heads and cam package and I am wondering how many miles I should put on before I take the car to the dyno. I just got the car going tonight so I plan on driving it a bunch this weekend and then changing the oil again next week. Can I put it on the dyno after the oil change or should I let it break in some more. I am also wondering if the rockers might be a little to loose. I can hear them ticking but I know they are suppose to have some noise to them? I took them down to zero lash and then turned them another 1/6th of a turn. The engine runs good but it just seems a bit noisey. What will happen if the rockers were adjusted too loose? Thanks.

Re: Dyno question and valve adjustment question

On stock lifters go 1/2 to 1 full turn.

Run it for the weekend, then dyno it after the oil change.

Re: Dyno question and valve adjustment question

If you have 3/8" rocker studs and stock lifters, then the correct setting is 1/2 turn past zero lash. If you have 7/16" studs with stock lifters, then 3/8 turn (right between 1/4 and 1/2 turn) is correct.

If you have comp-r lifters, then you need about 1/16 turn.
