Question Dyno Question

This is a question for all the LT1 A4 guys. All you guys that had your car on the dyno did the tech put your car in 2nd gear when he did the runs? I thought that all the runs where supposed to be done with the auto in D (not the overdrive D)which I guess is third. I do not have the electronic auto (4L60E) just the 4L60.

I believe most people would have pulled it in 3rd, or 4th for an M6. It's going to have a small percentage effect on your power output. Something like you lost 18% instead of 17% in third. The dyno will still accurately measure your power becasue a dynojet determines your effective gear ratio in rpm/mph to do its calulation ignoring the tranny gear, rear end gear, and tire size.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention while in 2nd he ran the car upto 6120RPMs and to 85mph. After, I checked the manual and it states that you should not run in 2nd above 55mph. My trans. seems fine but I don't think I will use him again after my next mods.
