Exclamation Dyno people: Get in here!!!

Someone brought this up in another thread. I have never dyno'ed in anything other then 4th, and I've dynoed about 10-12 different runs. Do people here dyno in 3rd or 4th, and did you notice results?

You need to dyno in 4th. If you dynoed in any other gear you didn't get a correct reading.

When you're in 4th gear your tranmission is at a 1:1 ratio. Sounds like the dyno guy in the other thread simply didn't know what he was talking about.

AFAIK, 3rd for an A4 and 4th for a manual.

The only car I know of that people dyno in a higher than 1:1 gear is the Supra TT 6 speed guys, they use 4th (5th is 1:1 on thier cars) since 5th gets the dyno rollers spinning really fast, 160-180mph I believe and it doesn't rev up as quick.

All of my f-body/mustangVette friends use 4th in a manual and 3rd in an auto.
