Dyno Graph for CC306

I got the graph from my dyno tune scanned today and thought I would post it and get some opinions on it. My car consists of 58mm TB, ported intake, ported Modern Musclecar heads which are supposed to flow 285/215 @ 0.600", 1.6rr, Hooker LT's, 3" Y-pipe, and Spintech muffler, and 4.10 gears, and street twin clutch, and Racetronix fuel pump kit. The car was dynotuned to 12:1 AFR on a Mustang Dyno. Greg Banish (turbolx) did the tuning and said that if he went any leaner he had to pull timing out to keep the knock out of the car and it made less power.

My major question is why is my power so flat from 5700 to 6500? I have to do some Datamaster logs to see what my injector duty cycle is and determine if I need to put in the 42# injectors that I have.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

FWI, with the 326HP of the base run I ran a 12.48@109.4 with a 1.795 60' on 28" ET Drags without getting into 4th gear.

Here is the graph.

I'm just dumbfounded as to why the CC306 isn't churning out better numbers; dyno and track. Spec-wise, I mean it looks like a GOLDEN cam.

Weird that you lost power up top like that...very.

So your HP peak after tuning was 349?

Same here. I've seen the CC306 do fair on a dyno...but I've yet to see track results that I'm impressed with (for as much hype as the cam has, that is). And, I'm the type that HP doesn't matter much to me. I don't care if my car's TECHNICALLY not as powerful, as long as it's faster

Yep.

I know the 28" tires were hurting me quite a bit as I was never getting into 4th until right before the traps shifting at 6800.

Dude...I just decided to take a look at your site...THAT RED INTERIOR IS THE SHIZNIT!!! You lucked out on that, really sets the car off!! I'm not big on interior upgrades...but that to me is the perfect example of a SWEET interior change.

Sorry to jack the thread...back to CC306 numbers.

That's exactly what I am thinking, but need peoples help to point me in the right direction as to what to look for. I think my heads are crap, but don't have the money now for a new set.

I plan on getting some Datamaster and Road Dyno readings this weekend and then was going to install the larger injectors to see if that is causing a problem.

What else should I look at?

Chad I have to take of rate know but I will try and gat a scan of my mustang dyno run and email to you. With my set up it starts to flatten out at about 6200 at about 356 rwhp on my last run. The torque seems kind of low?

I have almost the identical setup you do and I am putting out over 400 on a dynojet. Either there are some tuning issues (maybe a lot of knock retard), or the heads are not flowing what you say they flow (my heads flow EXACTLY what yours do), or some other variable such as the dyno reading abnormally low. In any case, those numbers are not adding up right.

where oh where has the torque gone?! I made 330ft/lbs with a burnt plug wire..... and my car just has inexpensive bolt ons!

Seems like xxsaint69x is doing better with the stock heads, which the cc306 is 'apparently' to big for. Or maybe your heads are just junk

ur2slow,

Thanks that would be cool so I can compare the two, even though we were on different dyno's it would be nice to have something for comparison. I got a hold of Greg and he is going to email me the text file of my run so I can enter the data into Excel and get a closer look at the graph.

1fast95Z,

Do you have any 1/4 times and MPH for your combination?

Umbrae,

I think you are right. I am going to be really pissed if I payed $1500 for someone to say they ported my stock heads but didn't actually touch them. If that is the case, there's nothing I can do since Modern Musclecar doesn't exist anymore. I plan on talking to Phil Odom (Skarodom) about having some heads ported.
