dynaspark??

so it's time to do the opti and water pump. Does anyone have any experience switching to a dynaspark? worth the cash? Also, is it worth switching to an electric water pump for a daily driver?

If you get a dynaspark that will be the last distributor you have to buy for the car. On top of the good construction, you can buy each individual replacement part direct from dynotech or whatever the company is called. I know my opti is going out for a dynaspark when I do my cam install...

as for the electric water pump, one advantage obviously is the increased flow at idle. Secondly, it frees up some horsepower robbed by the water pump, I would say maybe 8-10 in most cases. Lastly, with an electric water pump you have the clearance to run a double roller timing chain. At 80 dollar for a double roller, and 100 for a csi elec. WP, you are better off doing that than buying an LT4 extreme duty for the price of both of those put togther.

Good luck.

I have a Dynaspark opti. I have had it on for about 8 months. I've been very pleased. DO a search on this topic as there has been much discussion on this product over the last year.

I'd stick with the stock pump for a daily driver.

My dynaspark has been pluggin away for awhile now, and still works great. As stated above, its nice to be able to replace what fails!

electric water pumps are fine on a daily driver, but like anything else.. its another thing that could fail!

Just what I would look forward to when I'm on the highway....

Thumbs down to the electric water pump. Odds of the OEM water pump ever leaving you stranded is between none and zero.

I think I'm just going to go with OEM parts on this one. one of my concerns is how long will you be able to get the parts for the dynaspark. besides, this is just a daily driver and I'm not sure the extra 5 -10 hp is worth it to me. The car is eventully going to get a fresh motor, for now i just need it to start every morning.

Thanks for all the info!
