Re: Duel Setup Help!

Are you going to buy a new set of headers? Rusted headers are a fact of life, even if you get coated ones it eventually wears off. i wouldnt buy new ones unless they are heavily damaged by rust. For your setup I'd reccommend going with a universal x-pipe setup like jegs or summit sells. you can cut the pipes to length to dump it where ever you want. What mufflers are you planning on using?

headers are 3 years old but heavily rusted. I might aswell saved them and just do the x setup. now with midlength headers is that x setup still doable?

Re: Duel Setup Help!

Have the headers coated, it will cost a little less than new headers...lol

But buy the universal X kit that's sold in Jegs or Summit, 2 18 inch bullets mufflers (by Dynomax) , 2 2 1/2 inch turn downs, and 2 header flange reducers (down to 2 1/2 inch). The set -up we put on a freinds car was really pretty straightforward. We put it all in place bolted it all up and then tack welded it all, removed it and welded all the seams. We used common exhaust hangers at the back. On a mildly cammed LT1 it sounds like a dragster.
