dual vs single bore throttle body - whats the difference?

So LT1 engines came from the factory with throttle bodies with two openings, and LS1 engines came with a single opening throttle body.

What's the reason for going to a single opening? Assuming both have the same cfm, is there any inherent advantage in the single blade setup?

The single TB's can be made in bigger sizes and can be just as big as the intake tubing so there's not much affecting air flow like on our TB's. We have to install Air Foils to help out and they make pleniums for LS1 TB's also, I just personally like the look of the dual but I believe the Bigger single will flow better.

Our stock throttle bodies are bigger than the 90mm FAST throttle bodies that are so popular on the LS1. I'm not sure how that affects CFM, but you'll get less turbulance from a single bore since the air doesn't have to "split up" before going into the intake. I still don't understand why GM decided to give us great throttle bodies and a good flowing intake and then choke up the heads so much?!

not many people with lt1's go to a monoblade because it's really hard to tune. IE, I don't know if anyone's ever been able to figure out how to fix the lean spike in initial throttle tip in. Just pressing the accelerator slightly will let a lot of air in. LS1's have much better pcm's, and can adjust for more things.

?????

Stock 48mm = 5.61 square inches
Dual 52mm = 6.58 square inches
Dual 58mm = 8.19 square inches

Single 90mm = 9.86 square inches

I suspect the twin blade TB for the LT1 was chosen to minimize hood height.

Nevermind, you're correct, as always.
