I have done a search and read through a few threads on this. It seems like to ditch my 97 dual cat setup and go to a single cat, I would need:

1) 94-5 style headers
2) Y-pipe
3) New single converter
4) S-pipe to hook up to my cat-back
5) O2 sims

Is this everything one would need? If anybody has done this conversion, I would appreciate your feedback.

It seems like everyone says bad things about the dual cat shorties, so I was thinking of maybe going this route (no long tubes). Any input would be appreciated.

 

i did the conversion, i used as&m headers and y pipe, an ORP, an S pipe, and the exhaust hanger did not line up, and of course a catback
so it looks like you need an s pipe and a 94-95 exhaust hanger.
