DTC code Question
DTC code Question
ok, I have a scanmaster. my MAF connector got snipped. I replaced it. But, it still reads a 48 DTC code? but, the MAf is reading normally? any reason why it's still giving me a 48 DTC if it's reading correctly?
Thanks!
Thanks!

how did you replace the connector. you might need to solder(sp) them due to teh fact that using butt connectors on the wire can change the resistence value to the computer

Did you clear the code with the Scanmaster? Hell, I don't know if they are capable..... If not, go to Auto Zone or Advance Auto and have them clear the code and see what happens.

The you have a couple options:
1. Remove fuses as stated above.
Most of the time this will work. However you need to be sure that the code is gone. Just because the light goes away doesn't mean that the code is gone. Your PCM will store codes.
2. Go to one of the above parts stores.. They have a diagnostic scanner that can view and reset codes. It is free and you will be sure that the code is deleted enabling further trouble shooting.
Good luck

Since he has a ScanMaster, he will know if the code is cleared. When you pulled the PCM BAT fuse, was the ignition switch in the "off" position.... it should be.
What kind of MAF readings are you seeing? Sounds like an intermittent wiring problem.
