wont work, you have the brake line going across the crossmember under the engine

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. So, where is the best place to disconnect the brakes, at the ABS? The reason I'm asking is that I'm in the process of pulling my engine, all that's left is the short block and I did it one piece at a time, because it started out as just pulling the heads, and now I'm into overhauling the whole engine. But going back together, this sure looks like the best way to put it back in. One other question, I have a 2 ton hoist, adjustable to 1-1/2T, 1T, & 500 lbs. What do you think the front of the car weighs, minus the engine and K-member?

yes, just disconnect the 2 front lines, and gently flex them towards the engine..

and your hoist setting are not as you listed, they are 4000lbs(2T), 3000lbs(1 1/2T), 2000lb(1T), and 1000lbs(1/2T)

I think I would put it to the 2000lb(1T) location, but let me ask Quentin (he wrote that walkthrough)

We have it down to an art. Using a happy hooker on my IMP and my buddie's 95Z we can have the motor out and on the ground in less than two hours. Pulling it from the the top. Not dropping the K member. The last install on the Z was motor and tranny together from the top. In and running in 31/2 hours. Practice makes perfect!!!
