Drive shaft vibration????

Drive shaft vibration????
What exactly does the drive shaft vibration feel like? I know I have the original steel drive shaft in my 94 and it seems like I have a weird vibration around 80mph. I did replace the stock tranny mount with the energy sus mount. I know GM did some kind of recall for cars that did have the vibration and replaced it with the aluminum version. Can this still be done?

I dont know about a recall but I would just buy an aluminum driveshaft and have it balanced. You could just get your stock one re balanced but if its anything like mine its totally covered in rust, I bet ya I will be able to break it with my new mods

My '97 with the steel vibrashaft felt like the car was humming at speeds of 65-70 mph and above. It wasn't a constant humm, more like a cyclic humm... humm on, humm off (building up and decaying in between).
I finally got around to getting an aluminum shaft installed, now it just has a slight resonance around 65 mph, but goes away when speeds are over 70, which is fine, since I rarely drive 65
If you do lots of long high way trips, get it done, otherwise if most of your car use is in the city, don't bother (unless you're funded well )

It wasn't a recall just a TSB, technical service bulletin on the problem. They did not tell anyone to bring there car in for a new driveshaft or anything but if a customer was having vibration problems with the stock steel shaft the fix was for them to intall an LS1 aluminum. I'm pretty sure this only applied to cars that were still in their 3/36 or longer warranty. My stock vibeshaft ruined my rear at 20k miles one day when I was making a brief run just a little over 100 
GM gave me a complete new rear, housing and all and an LS1 ds no charge
