Drive Shaft Or Gears Howling?

Drive Shaft Or Gears Howling?
I had a set of gears put in the car in the fall, went thru the break in period, the gears sound good.
my question is I hear this howling or vibration sound comming from the car, it only is really noticable when the car is in overdrive.
it sounds like its comming from the middle of the car.
could it be the drive shaft howling? or is it the gears
this seemd to only happen around 40mph. is this normal when you go to taller gears?

would it only make that sound in a certain speed range?if it was a u joint?
once it gets up to 43 & higher the howling or vibration goes away.

if its howling at a set speed as you say (43 mph), id say its your gears. mine did it at 60, others at 50, etc. now, on the other hand, if they whine ALL the time, get ready, cause your ring and pinion are about to go snap (thats not the case with you though)

I know some people have said that when you go to a taller gear theres a chnce that your drive shaft can start to hum....vibrate
any truth to the above?

Mine do the same thing....they start to make a little howl around 40 or so and goes away at about 45.

Was limited slip additive used? Sometimes not using this can cause a whine. But, most likely it is the gears, did you use aftermarket ones?
