Drag Radial Feedback: BFG vs. Nitto
Since the work I've done on my car this last spring, I've found the BFG KDW G Force tires are pretty much worthless thru first and second even with the factory 3:42 set up. The prices are about the same on 275/40/17's but I wanted to get this boards opinion on which is better. Right now I'm leaning towards the Nitto's since they supposely handle decent and hook up good. Let me know guys, the days of just running down the competition in third is getting old.

The BFG is just as good as the Nitto for traction and seems to be a little more consistant and predictable but the Nitto will stay street legal longer and probably last longer in general.

why don't you just do it right, and not buy either, if your gonna spend that much on tires might as well find some used rims and mount some full slicks on, and just use decent all year type of tires.

You make a good point, but you got to pay to play, it's part of hot rodding, I seriously wouldn't use high dollar tires if you cant use them to there full advantage, you'll just wear them out faster anyways. To answer the original question though, there both fairly good and equal from what I'v heard and seen.

Ive run both at the track. The BFG are stickier.
Havent run the BFG on street, but my nitto are full time street tires. They work decent in wet weather, and are awesome in dry. Should last at least 10k miles.

From my experience the BFG's hook a little better than the Nitto's. The BFG's wear out alot faster though. I've pulled a best of 1.70 60ft. on a set of 245/50/16 Nitto DR. So if you want a good street/strip tire that lasts awhile, get the Nitto DR.

I've used both Nittos and BFGs. The Nittos blow the BFGs away. They hook better and last longer...But...There's NO substitute for ET Streets!
The BFGs wouldn't get any better than a 2.12 60 ft. Without changing anything else but a switch to Nittos, it dropped to a 1.90. Without changing anything else but a switch to ET Streets, it dropped to a 1.73! This is all with a completely stock suspension...And a completely stock motor.

ive gone 1.68 with my bfg drag radials.. I belive the nitto should be close at the track for lower horsepowercars but start making some serious horsepower and i think the bfg would shine over the nitto. There are 8 second cars on bfg drag radials.. I still haven't seen a nitto go that fast. The nitto will get much better tread wear as i only get 1 summer out of a pair of the bfg's. The bfg's hook amasingly on the street as long as you get back in your patch.. I have had people tell me i got 1 tire off the ground on one of my launches durring a street race. If you are looking for a tire to drive on every day and still want decent traction with decent tread wear i would go with a nitto. If you are looking for a tire that is going to be dead consistant and hook great and be willing to buy a new set of tires every summer or so i would go with the bfg. Either way you go you will be very happy with the performance over a street tire. I have also run an et street and after three days of playing with tire pressure at the track, the best 60' i could cut was a 1.803.. I think et streets and drags work much better on the big horsepower cars. Thats my opinion. Good like with your tire choice.

Anyway, get nittos you'll love them. I drive 80 miles/day and get about 12-15k miles out of a pair. They work great in the rain also. In light/moderate rain, I drive 75mph down the highway with them and skinnies no problem. WARNING though, if they are bald, don't attempt that. I've got 8k on the pair on my car right now, and I still do 75 down the highway in rain though.
