drag launch with slicks, hit bumpstops??
The reason i ask is that I removed my bumpstops for my 315's. Now on normal day to day driving, I never really bottom out. However, yesterday I was going 70 and hit a real monster dip in the road that made the car bottom out, and i heard a thud in the rear and noticed that my tires went so high as to hit the upper fender. No damage, just a little line going around the side of the tires from hitting the upper fender(I guess thats why some ppl roll them,
).
I can deal with this, but my question is that if I drag the car with slicks and drop the street twin will I have any problems?? I mean, ppl with bumpstops would just have the axle come up and hit them, I'd get the slicks hitting the upper fender(no good) and getting them possibly cut open and/or worse. Just FYI, I am running the street twin, strange 12 bolt, and 150 wet shot out of the hole but I never launched it hard yet, I will this summer. Anyone have any comment on this?? Does the axle ever hit the bumpstops on HARD launches, or do the stock springs keep up??? Thanks
Brian
