DR sizes

Well I'm now the owner of some AFS 18x9.5 Chrome Z06s. I need some rubber to wrap them in though. I'd like a good street tire that hooks and doesnt wear. My first choice is some Nitto 555Rs. The only size I know of is 305/45s and that would make the tire about 28" tall correct? Does Nitto make a 275/285-35 sized tire? I'm lookin to stay around 26" because I'm not doing any reprogramming for tire sizes when theres so many alternatives. If not what are some recommendations? Dont say BFG DRs, I already own a pair of those on my salad shooters and they're almost worn out and I've only had them for 2000 miles and 6 months.

Just lookin for a good performance tire that will hook on the street, I'll have slicks for the track.

The Nitto 305/45-18's are 28.8" diameter. There is no way they will fit into the wheel openings without a can opener.... I ran 28.0" QTP's and they rubbed at 125+MPH trap speeds, and my 28.1" ET Drags required about 1.5" to be taken off the front of the bumper cover. With 28.8" drag radials, you better be prepared to install 4.10's or 4.56's.

BFG has a new line of 18" g-Force drag radials, although they are intended for "sports compacts".... they do make several in 25.7" and 26.2" diameters......

I will end up with a 4.10 12-bolt when I bring the car back out in the spring. Not looking to make any modifications to the bumper cover just yet because I know what is involved to make a tire the size you speak of fit. My friend has those BFG G-Force drag radials that you're talking about on 18" chrome bullits on his 02 GT. I'll have to ask him how his tread is holding up. I already know they hook really well despite being intended for the sport compacts. Maybe I'll go with a really good street tire that'll give me the traction I need. Thanks for the info.
