i bought a hotcam kit off someone on the board but it has the non vented dowel pin.. will my stock vented cam pin work? thanks adam

 

It'll work if you can get the old one out and the new one in there. It's no easy feat.

 

Yeah, easier to buy a new dowel and install it.

Take it to a machine shop and have them swap it. Probably cost you ~$10.

 

Mine was too short for my cam too, so I bought one from ace and ground it down to the same diameter as the stock one, and then ground down the end to the stock length. Then I lightly tapped it in with a hammer untill there was .620" sticking out. The Diameter I bought was 1/4" and that was I think .003" too big so it had to be ground down some.
