Who to grind a custom cam???

I am going from a full exhaust + intake 94 Trans Am to a fully forged 383 with all out ported LT4 heads/intake manifold, fully built a4 with a SY3600 stall, 3.73 gears and little other boltons (valvetrain, suspension, etc...)

My question is I had a 233/239 .569/.577 111lsa Combination Motorsports cam that I was goign to use on stock displacement with these heads unported. Well, I made up my mind I am going all out with this MODFEST.

So, who do I get to do a custom ground camshaft?
How do they know what to grind the cam specs to? Do they just go off the head flow numbers?

Thanks
Matt

Cam Motion does have a great product along with the service. Glad to see they finally brought that experience to the web.

I know and have used two custom grinders in particular. Both of which have speced cams for some of the top players in the drag and road race arenas. If you're interested, shoot me a PM.

Thanks guys. So when I get in touch with these people, they are just going to ask me for my flowsheets, mods and goals? Is there going to be anything else I am going to need?
Thanks again

Cam Motion will ask u more than the flow #s inorder to make the best Cam for your application, he will ask you stuff like what gear you have, the collector size of your headers, exaust size, flow #s and more, but I honestly belive from what I have seen that He makes the best cams on the market.

Bret will want to know flow numbers, what size exhaust/intake components, rpm range your looking to run in, usage of the car, etc.

I have a Cam Motion cam waiting to be fired in my engine now. Seems to be of very high quality, specs are based on much more than just my flow numbers. This cam is completely tailored to my car.

Ed Curtis at FTI is amazing with mustangs, and he is really starting to get a reputation with the LT1 and LS1 crowd.

Re: Who to grind a custom cam???

I've probably had Cam Motion do about a half a dozen cams for me. The problem is everytime they did one, it was different. The other kicker is they all made about the same power.

It's been three years since I had one ground by them, I'd think they would be a bit more consistent now that people have figured out their combo's a bit better.
