With the proper test equip they can tell you exactly what's wrong and even fix it for you. For a fee of course.You could let them test and find whats wrong,then bring it home and fix it yourself,But don't tell them that going it.

yeah I've done that routine before....have someone diag it then bring it home and fix it...I just hate doing that....more satisfying to find the problem myself.

well if people have had issues with the opti before, and it had the same symptoms, id say try it. you would however spend less money just taking it to the dealer and having the diagnostic done, and fixing the issue. sometimes we have to do what must be done, even if its not something we like to do. take the easy route and save money. doing the opti and being wrong is a time consuming $289 mistake if wrong.
