gettin my stall installed tomorrow! what should i expect?
well guys, i think this will be my last modification other than welding in my SFC's and getting some DR's. then i'm just going to start saving away to pay for the first thing that breaks. will it be the 10bolt or the 4l60e? only time will tell. i went with a used 2800 vigilante lock-up converter, which i bought off the board. i'm paying $350 to have it installed in the morning. how much do you think i'll gain in the 1/4? how much gas mileage should i lose? and should i pay an extra $50 to have a corvette servo installed? (i've searched the corvette servo on here and have come up with mixed replies--many saying we already have the corvette servo, and many saying we don't have it).
thanks,
Michael.
thanks,
Michael.

Expect good streetability along with a gain in the 1/4 of around four to five tenths. You shouldn't even know the converter is in there unless you romp on it then it will let you know.

I have that exact same converter . You will adapt to the changes it will make on your car, some of those being:
Higher rev's while normal driving due to converter slippage
What seem to be firmer tranny shifts
When on it:
Snap into the powerband
Awsome Launches
Much better downshifts that keep the RPMS up
My gas mileage did not change much and I did gears and computer at the same time. As well, be sure you put a big tranny cooler on your car. The converter will create excess heat in the tranny and you need it to keep your tranny alive, I got the one of the best ones hughes makes for like 50 bucks.

Since we didn't have times prior to the converter installed on my car and the 3 mods installed simotamiously I really couldn't tell you. But, since you have heads cam and the works I see it definatly dropping half a second.

You really won't know it's in there....i gained a .1 with mine but i was a sissy and didn't wanna stall it to 2800 with the ET streets so i'm sure i would gain some more. You will notice it a little at first but not much...i didn't notice any MPG loss and the downshifts were a lot quicker and harder but that's about it.
