Re: doing Lt4 hot cam ????

Contact a tunder, either madz28 or pcm4less and you should be able to update your tune to one for a LT4 hotcam. If you got the email package from madz28.com I think you may be able to make the upgrade for free.

You dont need a LT4 knock module, but it wouldnt hurt to have. It will only help you if you are getting false knock.

Lt4 knock module is recommended because of the roller rockers. They are quite louder than the stock rockers and have been known to produce false knock.

A stall conveter to make it launch better with the LT4 Hot Cam.

Re: doing Lt4 hot cam ????

I went 12.8's without a stall and 12.28 with one. That was with the hotcam and all motor.

That is extremely re-assuring.

I've got the LT4 Hotcam with a fully rebuilt 4L60E and Vigi 3000 stall (and all the other typical bolt-ons plus tune). I wasn't going to set my expectations too high, maybe a 12.90. With some MT ET Street Radials maybe a Mid 12 will be attainable.

One a side note to stay on topic:

When I did my LT4 Hot Cam Kit Swap I purchased the cam swap gasket set from Thunder (http://thunderracing.com/catalog/?ac...vid=4&pcid=157 -- scroll down to 'Gasket Packages') plus an OE Replacement Timing Set from the dealership. Honestly don't cheap out on this, and you might as well do it all while you've got it all torn apart.

I wouldn't go off of my numbers. My car was a freak LT4 Hotcam car. One of the fastest I've heard with unported heads, even for ported heads.

Gear drives aren't the best over 6,000rpm. It's not recommended.

I went 12.2 at 115 with my current setup. Hotcam, ported heads, forged 355 with 11:1 compression.

You could also install and electric water pump to free up alittle more horsepower.
