I never really thought about this, but if removing the front swaybar takes off a couple tenths off your time, then would putting on a STB make me lose a couple tenths at the track!?!

Only from the added weight.

STBs do the most good on cars with front struts, unlike '93 on F-bodys which are wishbone or SLA (short and long arm) front suspensions, not McPherson strut suspensions.

FWIW, a front anti-roll bar restricts upward movement of the front end mainly because of the friction in the bushings which mount the bar to the chassis. Loosening those bolts and squirting a little silicone lube on the bushings will usually help a little. Losing the front end weight of the bar when drag racing helps a little too.

It affects your 60's there for affecting your 1/4 mile time... not that much, but it is there.

OldSS and I had a very good post in advanced tech about strut tower braces in 4th gen cars. DO a seach for my user name to find it, prolly about 10 months ago.

Anyways, most concluded the strut tower bars dont do much of anything on a 4th gen other than add weight.
