Does the cam spin twice during a complete engine revolution?
I recently installed a new timing chain after a break and after the installation of the new one the car would run (barely) but only with alot of gas! I'm wondering if I installed the timing chain right. The dots lined up but I'm wondering if maybe either the cam pulley or crank pulley was off 180 degrees? If one of the timing gears spins twice while the other spins once I may have messed that up. None of my valves were damaged but I did have a badly bent pushrod......all the plug wires were correct. Can anyone help? Why was she running so poorly?

If the cam spins at half the crankshaft then at one point the cam dot is at 12 o'clock and the crank gear is at 12 o'clock (#1 at TDC I beleive) if this was so when the chain broke the if I left the crank gear at 12 o'clock but manually spun the cam gear to 6 o'clock (where the dots are next to each other) wouldn't the valvetrain be off a half rotation?
