Question Do I need to upgrade my fuel pump?

Rebuilding to 355 with 224/230 cam and P&P heads. Looking for ~350 RWHP. Do I need to change my stock fuel pump, or will I be OK?

The stock fuel pump is good for around 400 fwhp, so I think it will be maxed out for your application. Better change it IMO.

I would just stick in a Walbro 255 lph and be done with it.

No, you'll need a 255lph intank pump so you can get all the fuel you'll need up top in the rpm range. I just had my 355 installed and needed a new 255 intake pump.

What heads did you go with? I just pulled 392rwhp with my setup.

My stock fuel pump died after 3500 pampered miles on the stroker application. I raced maybe 5 times.

Dropped in a walbro.

Quit your whining and be done with it . Drop the tank and pop in the new pump. Yes it is that easy . Getting the tank back in is a different story.

I think I am going to drive thru the break-in peroiod with the stock pump, then I'll see what the dyno says...If I am running lean, then I'll upgrade.

There's nothing wrong with using the stock fuel pump for now. Of course in the future you might need a new one but you should just wait until then. My feeling is that the aftermarket fuel pumps aren't as reliable as the stock AC Delco fuel pump. By the way, last week I replaced mine with a stock one instead of something "high performance".

, sure just remember to tell them your car is an LT1 because if not they will assume it is an L98.
