Might want to add a "signature" with important info like year of the car, trans type, any major mods. Not all LT1's are "the same". For example, it your car is a 93, you can't use the LT4 KM.

Nobody but you can say if you need it You don't know if you need it unless you scan your car with a scantool. From there determine if you have false knock. If you determine you have false knock then give the LT4 KM a shot.

Buying it with no false knock retard = a waste of money.

i wouldn't say it would be a waste of money. They are cheap and a little piece of insurance if you were to develop a false knock

The only option on a 93 is to "desensitize" the knock sensor with a resistor in the circuit... do a "search" on one of the "how to" pages. But first, the engine needs a good dyno tune to get the fuel and the timing map right.

Yes... 94 through 97 have a slot in the PCM for the knock module. The 93 does not have the slot and does not have the module.

Re: Do i need a km?

where can i get it dyno tuned..and about how much would it run me(anywhere around ct or virginia..and inbetween)

also..how much would a machineshop charge to put my motor together roughly...i have the LT1 block(std)pistons(4.030)rods(6")crank(3.750),main caps, main studs, and head studs. so im not sure whatelse will be needed just wanted a guesstimate and a name of a good respectable LT1 engine shop around here.

Re: Do i need a km?

The volume of your exhaust "might" cause some unwanted knock, for 30 bucks and a 5 minute install why not...Liked mine on my 97
