It will NOT fit with the double roller. And you will also have to have a spacer or a 94-95 hub due to the 96-97 being a different length for the CPS reluctor ring.

The ring is there to monitor misfire, it will through a code when removed but can be programmed out from the PCM.

If you remove it you will have to have the CPS sensor removed from the programing or you will have the SES light on. You will also have to have a 93-94 hub or some sort of spacer ring made up. The only reason for the CPS is to detect missfire. You don't need it to run.

Save yourself the headaches and do without the ring. Use a '95 cover and you won't have to worry about plugging the hole for the CRK sensor.

I've tried, ended up with lots of metal shaving in my oil. Like everybody has suggested, save yourself and get rid of it, I finaly did and I'm still running OBDII.

If you go with a 95 style cover, you still need a new hub as the hub has to be longer to butt up to the timing gear.

Re: do i have to have the reluctor ring??

or use the 96 hub with spacer or a 94 95 style hub with no spacer!

If you use the 96 hub with a spacer and the 95 style cover, the spacer will need to be designed to not interfere with the cover. You'll also need to look at where the crank seal mates with the hub/spacer to make sure that it seals properly.

Wow, enough confusion.

Use your existing cover, ditch the reluctor and program the CPS out, and get a 94-95 hub. You can leave the actual CPS in place, or remove it and use a freeze plug in the hole.

I just answered all these questions in an earlier post he had.
Obviously he doesn't want to get rid of the wheel.
