Im just as puzzled as you. Reason why im asking. I really don't know what LT1's trap. I know what they ET, but thats a big variable due to traction. Like I said, i'll post results on the heads when the intake gets pulled for the CC306 this Friday.

With mods like those why are you surprised about the trap speed. You dont have a "freak" LT1, you are getting speeds that an LT1 will attain with those mods. If it was totally stock then that might be an eye opener, but with those mods, not really. That MPH is also good for low 13s.

 

The car is fairly light... Compared to my car at least .

Not to mention - the D.A. has been pretty good in Tejas lately. Nice runs though .

 

Actually, I hear of some many people running long tubes, CAI etc.. and still trapping 104mph. Everyone told me with the 1" 5/8 shorties im going to be held back. Besides the headers, I have a 1.6 rr's and the tune, the rest of my mods are mostly chassis stiffening. I'd say yes, im surprised seeing a stock 4th gen next to me trapping 101 and im 8mph (almost 110mph) more with just headers and roller rockers.

there is an equation to figure out your 1/4 mile time but multiplying your 1/8mile time by 1.54. so to figure out your 18/m mile time form your 1/4 mile time divide your 1/4 time by 1.54 and by my figuring his is runing 8.97's in the 1/8 mile. being a third gen owner at one time and he put the lt1 in, is it possilbe that he has 2.73's in the rearend. if so would that make a diif in the mph? or could he really be spionning that badly down the track that the mph picks up that much.

 

It's something about the 3rd gens man. Mine traps 111-112 with Slp 1 3/4, 3" exhaust and Flowmaster, 1.6 rrs, CSI pump, and Moroso Cai. I turned up the shift points. I played around with the maf and tb but they are still stock. Nothing other than bolt ons.

I wish I had the weight of your car at 3100. With the 305/auto, my car weighed 3660 with me in it. So 3500 bare at the time.

A "freak" or not, it is a good running car. Have fun with it.

 

I will chip in about my brothers bone stock B4C 1996 Camaro z-28 M6. That car has no visible mods- very quite stock exhaust (probably B4C version), stock manifolds, no z-28 badges, and matching top color. So far he just lost to two cars- my camaro and 2002 stock viper on the highway. He raced with me in the car a 1999 corvette auto till ~100mph from a stop, killed her by 2 cars. Also around a week ago two guys tried racing him in their saleen supercharged and got shot down. At first they we laughing since they thought it was a six banger, but after race they didn't dare to pass my brother even when he slowed down . I am not talking about stock LS1's, he passed 3 already, one with me in the car racing a guy who owns one in his school. It was an auto LS1 with headers/catback, but he didn't have a chance. My butt-meter tells me that his car has ~ 320 rwhp, it just pulls like ****, and is so quite. It was a police car though, so who knows how much 'stock' it is. It has 130k miles and definatelly it is a freak

I was going to bring up the case of your car being another 3rd gen LT1 that seems to trap really high for the mods done. They must be a little lighter or something. LOL you should trap about 123mph with that blower now...

 

I can't wait to run the car now z97. It ran 120 with 100 shot but my a/f was so rich it was off the charts(less than 10:1) so my hp was way down. I plan on getting Creech to tune it here shortly. We should meet up or something if there is local car club.

The MPH has to do alot with the 6-speed, light car, and light driver, but expect it to go around 106 once you get the 60' down to sub-2.0.

I was running 12's at 105-106. Your car is a lot lighter than mine (3610 with me in it). I bet there have been more mods made than you are aware of... Put on some decent tires and go to a track that provides incremental readouts. Without knowing the incrementals it is a real shot in the dark guessing as to what has been done, however the light weight could be a large factor in the high mph numbers.
