Do I have a bad opti?

Ok, here are my symptoms

- Engine was running fine on 200+ mile trip. After sitting overnight engine would crank but not start and had no spark.
- I replaced the coil and it ran, but interm would stall or crank and not start.
- I replaced the ignition module and that seemed to help but the engine would still interm not start or stall while running.
- That has gotten worse and worse until now it will not start at all.
- Check engine light was on when last running but I can't get codes out of it at this point due to the custom wiring harness. It seems that I have an OBDII port but am running OBDI pcm. I know that the hand helds that GM uses work with this as I had no problem bringing up codes and data when I worked at a pon/bui/cad dealer. But now all I have access to are the generic snap on diag tools. Any help with this would be appreciated.

(engine has no spark at all the above times when having problem)

I am assuming I may have a bad opti just because I have replaced the coil and ignition module. Please let me know if I am on the right or wrong path.
