distributor kit

hey guys. well my car, a 94 formula, had been acting up and i took it to my mechanic. he said i needed to whole distributor kit, i really dont know what that means but he said he could only get it from the dealer which would cost 675$. i think thats too much, and i could probably get it from summit racing or something. i would really appreciate it if u guys knew the part # for the whole kit including opti spark and everything. i was thinkin this would be the part i was looking for but im not sure: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

thnx guys

That would be the complete unit. You can get just cap and rotor but i would replace the whole thing. I bought the msd and it came as a vented unit unlike the early lt1's. It also had the new wiring harness which was ready for replacement. I also did the water pump since i had to pull it anyways and it was just starting to leak and there is nothing worse than putting the old one back on and it ruining the brand new opti. I got the gm performance one for only $175.

I don't see any wiring harness but the gm one is around 65.00 seperate. The complete unit is cap, rotor & cover assembly. This is complete.

Check out the parts for sale on this site, sometimes you can find new ones in there for a decent price as well.

Consider at least giving the year of your car, so you can get correct advice.

I would give one of these guys a call first, they will get you a brand new complete LT1 distributor for around 300 bucks. http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#Dal_and_Jason That is much better then the 675 the stealership wants.

I know that the 1994 is a split year for the camaro. Mine was made early so i had the non vented one. You can look under the car at the opti to see if it has the fresh air hoses. They are on the bottom and run to the intake i think.

I never saw a 94 F-body with a vented opti stock, Y-bodys and B-bodys, yes
