Dissapointed in LCA's! Or is it the weather 39Degrees.

I am wondering if I stil can't hook up better with my new BMR LCA's because it is in the high 30's outside. I was expecting a night and day difference, I just feel the rear more solid and the traction feels close to the same. Would greasing the zerk things wrong affect it? I am puzzled whether they were not that big of a help or just the cold weather is killing my traction.

they wont "greatly" increase traction, they make it more consistent and less prone to wheel hop. cant really grease them wrong.

Also the cold weather isnt helping anything.

You'll probably not notice anything fron LCAs especially when its this cold. About the only thing that makes a day and night difference is going from street tires to drag radials or slicks.

I had the same issues.. I installed my BMR LCAs and didn't notice any difference at all. It seemed more solid in the rear end but it almost seemed to spin easier because of this, especialy coming out of corners. I only got to try them when it was low 30s outside though and people on here told me that the temps were really hurting them. Im going to try some relocation brackets followed by an air sack come spring.

It's the cold weather thats giving you the traction problems. Are you running street tires still?

if you want better traction get a set of drag radials, they were night and day difference compared to my street tires.

lca's are primarily for reduced wheel hop.

is you car lowered?

The cold weather is what's screwing you over. Your gonna spin bad even if your running drag radials if the ground is cold. I spun so bad the other day the car was starting to get sideways, and it was like 36 degrees out, not even freezing. It's too cold, especially if you live up north, at this time for any kind of drag racing. Traction is a bitch on a cold road.

After doing some more driving today I noticed that the rear does plant the tires better slightly, its a different feeling than before, the traction I am sure will greatly improve with the warmer weather. The tires will not spin as long but hook up and it feels like the tires are being forces to plant and gain traction.

LCAs with poly bushings don't help traction, but reduce wheel hop by removing the flex found in the factory bushings; this also removes the flex required in the bushings needed for the suspension to work properly, which is why you have the loss of traction in corners and why poly/poly LCAs should be avoided. Serious racers use LCAs with rod ends.

If your car is lowered, relocation brackets can restore your geometry and improve traction, but can hurt high speed stability if you use the lowest holes for maximum anti-squat.

There was a post up here earlier today about that. If you're real lucky you might see .1 in your 60 ft times but that's it. They look good though!!!!!
