Angry Dip stick tube broke off

The tube broke off toward the bottom. There is about an inch sticking up from the block. I tried like hell to pull it the rest of the way way out with other tools. How can I get it the rest of it out?

You could try jamming a EZ out in it.

Man that sucks. Mine broke off too. I tried getting it with some vice grips but that bitch was in there. It's not very thick metal, if you work it back and forth it will probably break lower. Mine then broke off in the block, and I had to use a punch and hammer it out from the top. I dropped the oil pan enough for my buddy to get a hand in there and hang on to it while I carefully punched it out.

I bought 2 replacements, just in case. They are cheap. I had no problem getting the new one in - I was putting Hooker LT's on there, I had to bend it some so it wouldn't bind on the headers, then unbend it as it went in. I just replaced my passenger side head gasket and the tube was even easier to remove and install this time.

The dipstick tube being broke is the only thing holding me up on finishing the headers. Any other ideas on how to get it out?

thats what i did, and it couldnt have been easier. just tap the EZ out in the tube enuff so that you can put about 2ft worth of 1/4 extention use a wobble too. and just turn the ratchet for awhile so that it rubs the paint off, then use some needle nose locking pliers and tap the pliers from under the car. took me a WOPPING 10 minuets doing it this way. there was about 2 or 3 inches in side the block so you gta tap on it for a little while. best of luck.

Carefully tap it down into the oil pan. Then fish it out through the drain hole with a magnet. It may take a few trys but it would be better than removing the pan.
