Question Differences in ls1/lt1 IAT Sensor?

I am working on a new intake setup for my lt1. One of the pieces i am using is cut out for a ls1 air intake temp sensor. For fitment purposes should i use an ls1 sensor or use an lt1 sensor to use? Do they read the same? The hole is pretty large for the ls1 sensor, thats why i am wondering if there is a difference in size and or in how they read. Thanks!

One other thing, can the stock sensor be removed from the intake elbow?

GM has pretty much standardized temperature sensors, for virtually any fluid. The sensor is a thermistor, and resistance varies inversely with temperature. The table of resistance vs. temperature is the same for all of them. There is a copy of that table in my online Scanner writeup. To check the two sensors, put them both in a glass of ice water... they should read 9,420ohms. Then put them both in a pot of boiling water.... they should read 177ohms. If the resistance is within a couple percent for both sensors, they will be interchangeable as far as the PCM is concerned.

Yes, the stock LT1 IAT sensor will pull right out of the inlet elbow.
