I would imagine that both would be pretty much the same, plastic may not heat soak as much as stainless but I have nothing to back up any performance gain one over the other.

K&N is better. Nah, I'm just saying that because that's what I bought. They are probably about the same. Same gains, same performance.

The K&N sounds louder than the SLP. You can hear the air being sucked in more clearly with the K&N than you can with the SLP. Maybe because the SLP is made of steel, it muffles the sound more.

I've had them both, went with the F1 version of the SLP cause that polished stainless looks awesome. Both work well, the K&N is plastic with a single cone filter, the SLP is steel and has two tubes going to two cylindrical filters. Looks like a blower or something.

Well I just replace my K@N CAI last night for the Black SLP CAI and I like the SLP better, NOT ONLY is it better looking in my engine compartment it seems to work a lil better (Prolly all in my head and the face that the filters were way cleaner then the K&N)

with the slp, can you still get the stainless or polished version, or can you only get the black one? as for your post, i would get the slp due to looks.
