4.10 gear installed...question

I just had the 4.10 gear put in my car, my first question is shouldn't the car be burning the darn tires off when I floor it...or am I wrong here? Not that I'm not looking for traction, because I was planning to buy drag radials for traction, but I don't even need them as it is. It has no problem at all chirping the tires into second gear and even catches third once in awhile...but just kind of chirps the tires off the line as well...odd to me. I had a 94 Z28 a4 that couldn't dream of traction when I put a 3.73 gear in it...I'm just finding this odd...the car drives great and doesn't lag off the line....guess I'm just more so curious, cause traction is great, but unexpected in this case....thanks Jason

you will notice a difference once the speedometer is reprogrammed.

So is the computer treating it differently than it should...once it is reprogrammed are you saying it will act different?

yes, computer uses speed as a adjustment for fuel/spark curves, and shifting points. your sig does not tell what year car you have, but on obdii cars, if you run around w/ the speedo out it will trip a ses light due to the abs sensors get out of whack that way. nothing serious though, just get it calibrated soon.
