differences between lt1's
differences between lt1's
Looking at buying a 93 Z28. Noticed for upgrades that they leaveout the 93's, and start at 94. What gives? Is it the red head step child? Is there years I should avoid?
Re: differences between lt1's
There's nothing wrong with 93's, they just have a different type of engine control (as was said- speed density) than the 93-97 year cars. It's really no big deal at all.

Re: differences between lt1's
93's got some of the better parts actually, such as the m6 trans used a steeper gear ratio, hardned pushrods, etc.. checkout speeddensity.org (website w/ all people who own 93's)
Re: differences between lt1's
The emissions compliant headers for the 93 are harder to come by because the a.i.r. hoses are different. You cna use a majority of the performace parts interchangibly. The biggest differences are the pcm, no maf, fuel components, and headers.
