you will need to use the 93 timing cover, a 93 timing set, and to tap the pin in the cam in flush with the gear

Also, if you decide to swap to a 95 and up setup, you may need a 1LE or equivalent intake elbow to hook up the breather tube for the opti cap. Or just ghetto rig it

The dowel pin is the pin in the face of the camshaft. That's what drove the 95-97 Optis. The 93/94 models were driven by a splined shaft that connected the cam sprocket to the back of the Opti. The 93/94 camshaft still has the dowel pin, but its shorter because it only has to reach into the cam sprocket, not all the way to the Opti. That's why Dave89IROC was saying he could still use the 95 cam with the 93 Opti, he would just have to shorten the dowel pin.

well the car is still sitting at my friends shop .. so I will haev to grab a few picks and repull the vin. which decoded as a 1995 v8 car not v6. I have seen 3 others at various junkyards the same way.

Thanks for the info on the setup, so I can just keep the 95 cam and just shorten the pin. that works to.

I stand corrected!
