Did UPS screw up my head.

Last October UPS damaged my cylinder head on the mating surface to the block. They emailed me today that it just got finished, and are ready to send it back.....
First things first, I told them not to do anything to it because I was going to send it to the shop of my choice with the other undamaged head and get them both machined equally. Well... it looks like they just repaired that one head.
So and I screwed ??? aren't you supposed to machine them together so they are equal height ? or can I just bolt them on and go ?

What was the extent of the damage? What steps did "they" take to repair it?

Did UPS tell you they were going to have it repaired? How did they get the head back from you, or did you refuse delivery due to obvious damage?

Yes I refused delivery and filed a claim short after. On the claim I put that I would rather reimbursement than them fixing it. But as long as its fixed and its okay to run I would not care. I do not know what they did to fix it but here is what it looked like.

Im guessing they would have to fill it and then plane it down. But shouldnt that be done to both heads or am I wrong ?

man i would of just sent them back and have ups get me a whole new set, that is bs that they would do that and to leave it up to them to get them fixed isnt the best choice.

That sucks. Were they boxed?

I never even really think to check stuff out before the driver leaves. I'm inclined to just sign, and check it out later. But I've also never gotten a package that appeared to be damaged. I'm assuming if you refuse delivery, you would have to not sign for the item/s? Would you be screwed if you signed for something that was damaged, or do you have some recourse after the fact?
