No Spark. Ignition switch

My car is no producing spark through the coil. I am not getting any power going to the icm nor is there power going to the coil. I am also not getting power to my electric water pump. This all started about two weeks ago; first thing was I started the car then it shut off just like the key was turned off. Then it would not start, but after turning the ignition on and off a few times the car finally started. Now I am having the same problem;this time the car never started. I am thinking ignition switch because last time I drove the car I did smell a electrical smell inside of the car.

Did you check the fuse for the Coil/ICM?

Just checked, all of the fuses are good.
There is no power going to the four fuses on the right. This is with the key in the on position.

The coil gets power from #11, and the ICM pulls power from the coil. It is "switched" by the ignition switch.

You can also check any switched source at the fuse panel inside the car. That should tell you if you need to be looking at the ignition switch area (sounds likely). Does the dash even light up?

The dash lights were working; I just had no power to the coil and no power to my electric water pump. I changed the switch out yesterday and it fixed the problem. The car starts every try now.

Check your ignition switch on the steering column. I had same issues with mine it would run then just die out and then not start at all untill i let it sit for awhile. Turned out to be the switch on the column was burnt and is really common on alot of lt1s. If the switch isnt getting power or enough power from the key being turned on your not going to get any power going to the engine. Bought a new switch and cleaned up the other part of the connector and havent had a problem since. Check out the shbox's website to find out which connector your looking for and where its located on the column.
