DEX-cool v.s. GREEN STUFF- EVERYONE
Re: DEX-cool v.s. GREEN STUFF- EVERYONE
Yeah, there was a concern initially over DexCool compatible antifreezes. Compatible does not equal Approved. After checking at the local Walmart, they have both Prestone and Havoline that is GM 6277M(DexCool) approved. The Prestone is rated higher at the temperature extremes, but it'll allow 70% vs Havoline's 60% concentration. The only reason I was interested is my coolant level sensor just went bad at 70k miles and the coolant is due for change. BTW, DexCool is better for aluminum then the conventional green stuff.

Converted both of my vehicles to the green stuff.
1998 GMC 1500 and the TA wich is a 93.
I had lots of build up with the Dexcool stuff in just a few yrs on my truck in cluding the Radiator cap, hoses, and heater core.
Green all the way for me
