delteq aint working...

I installed my delteq today hoping to cure some stumbling I've had problems with, and at least to cure my opti problems. On a hunch, I installed it without bolting it to the car. I can't get a spark out of it. According to the online instructions on the delteq site, I need to check the opti box, which I did and it works fine. I still get no spark whatsoever. I sure hope it's not the module, because those cost almost as much as I paid for the system!

Anybody know of a quick way to check the D1980A delco module that the delteq uses to see why I'm not getting spark out of the coils? I double checked the install and everything, just getting no fire to the wires.

I have a crane-hi6r under the hood right now, but I had it completely disconnected prior to hooking up the delteq, so that shouldn't have made a difference. Fired right back up when I went back to the spark box/opti configuration I had before.

Re: delteq aint working...

found out what the problem was. Just so you guys know, it doesn't say this in the directions (at least the ones I downloaded off the net), but when you remove the coil to install the optibox, you need to still leave it installed to complete the circuit or else the coils wont fire. After thinking about what I did different, I hooked it up and it started firing right away.

Now I just need to think up a way to trick the computer into thinking the coil is still there, without actually having the coil there.

Interesting. Interesting enough, the directions I have were different, and I never got a jumper. Odd.
