Delphi's New O2 Sensor

I just ordered two new O2 sensors for my 1996 LT1, and I ordered the Delphi brand ones. The place called me back and said that the original part number O2 sensor has been replaced by Delphi (better heating element). Anyone else know about this? I just wanna make sure I will be okay after all the negative I have heard about non-factory O2 sensors.

Not exactly sure by the wording of your question, but Delphi is considered OEM.

Sorry, that was confusing. I meant to say that the old, factory Delphi brand O2 sensor that came with the car was replaced with a new part number (still Delphi) O2 sensor. I was told that Delphi stopped making the old one and has replaced it with a unit with a quicker, better heating element.

Hope that is a little more clear.

i was under the impression that Delphi's were very similar to AcDelcos

i've had Delphi's in my car for the last 15 - 20,000 miles since i have done LT headers and seem to be working great

I was also worried when I got one of the old ones and one new, but so far no problems.

I made a thread about it here: https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=586464
