Deleting power steering have questions>>

I just bought an altenator relocation kit and it does away with the power steering. I'm just wondering what to do with the rack. Do you leave it open? Plug it off? Need suggestions. Thanks

I would like to keep trash from getting in it and even keeping the excess power steering fluid off of my new motor. Any reason why you couldn't plug them? Whe have a brass type filter at work that might work, it could breath and not get fluid every where. I wonder what size fitting it would take?

I looped the lines.
It seals out any dirt and keeps a little fluid in there to keep the rack lubricated.

I did the same thing, low mount alternator and got rid of the accessory bracket.

I looped the lines on mine, I believe they are Metric fittings, just get some metric to -6 fittings and make a -6 hose to go from one to the other. Filling it is a bit messy but no big deal. I just brought my rack to the local speed shop and we tested fittings until we got the right ones. M16 & M18 seem to come to mind.

Its easy to loop the lines, just turn the wheel back and forth to pump out some of the fluid so the thing will turn.
A better way is to actually mount the PS Res on the frame next to the rack and run the lines to it so that it will bleed out any air in the lines b/c over time the seals are going to go bad in the R&P and will not be useful incase you decide to go back to having PS.

If non of that matters to you then leave open and junk will get in there.
