deleting o2 sensors
deleting o2 sensors
i'm redoing my wiring harness getting rid of all the bs and i'm thinking about getting rid of my o2 sensors and maybe my iat sensor. are there any long term effects besides bad fuel economy? is this a bad idea?

Re: deleting o2 sensors
Amazing... the critical sensors are not "BS".... they help the car make max power, without the potential for engine damage, help maximize fuel mileage and eliminate fouled plugs, and allow the PCM to compensate for changes in ambient conditions and even significant mods to the engine. Fix the exhaust leak, insure the O2 sensors and IAT sensor are functioning correctly, and enjoy the benefits of a modern, computer controlled fuel injection system.
Re: deleting o2 sensors
Injection is a huge part of why engines these days do not exhibit the wear older ones did. This is largely due to better AFR control at all temps and throttle. Without O2s you will likely run either rich or lean, rich will carbon up and wash away the oil on the walls accelerating engine wear lean is at best a bad thing.
