Noisy valves/lifters, first step???

Hey everyone, I just pulled my car out from storage and I'm hearing some ticking on the left side of my engine - more when it is cold. I'm figuring it's my valves or lifters and wondering what I should do about this. I was thinking I'd put a quart of Rislone in with my oil change as it has been known to quite noisy valves and lifters. I may be dreaming here, perhaps this is a bigger problem than simply adding an additive. Anyone got any thoughts?

are you sure this isn't an exhaust leak? mine started ticking on the pass side right after they installed my catback. they must've hammered something loose and i suspect it's the exhaust manifold gasket. i can hear it when i just start up then 80% of it goes away as the car warms.
