Re: Deleting EVAP

I would suggest leaving it, unless you like to breath gas fumes.

Re: Deleting EVAP

It doesn't work as it is

It was throwing a code that I have been trying to track down for a LONG time and could never get it fixed. So when I had my car tuned I had it taken out of the PCM

Re: Deleting EVAP

Everyone told me not to do it, but I did it anyway, and there are no problems, and there aren't any bad gas fumes. You can smell it sometimes when you are just sitting in traffic on a hot day, but its nowhere near as noticeable as an older car. I removed everything for the EVAP system - canister and all. I then took the vent line off the tank and extended it with a vacuum hose and ran it parallel with the filler neck. It exits next to the gas cap. I also got a vented locking gas cap just for good measure.

It wouldn't hurt, since you need to relieve that pressure in the tank somehow. Its only a couple of bucks, and like I said, I haven't had any problems with it. I should mention that I programmed it out with Tunercat, too.

I guess I am more into repairing stuff than removing it.

Leroy,
If it was throwing a code, it doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't doing its main job. I would leave it on there. If you wanna know how gas fumes smell like, I invite you over to ride in my car for an hour or two. I don't even have it disconnected or disabled.

Re: Deleting EVAP

I drilled a hole in my gas cap after I removed all the EVAP stuff. You need to relieve the pressure from the tank. I don't really smell any gas fumes when I drive.

HAHA I will probally leave it on there then if that is what the majority thinks. I have a set of FRC to put on there to cover some of that stuff up and that will be going on next.

Re: Deleting EVAP

Does it hurt not to have a air tank to connect the evap to? I am running with a air tank but have the other connections hooked up.

Re: Deleting EVAP

What are you guys doing with the line that comes up through the driver side fender (bundles with fuel lines)? Are you cutting it off, or removing it entirely?

I'm assuming the reasons for removing that line is for looks and to avoid having gas fumes enter the cabin. Also, what size plug will I need to plug up the nipple on the throttle body?
