i have a few question's about leaky manifolds

im trying to reinstall my stock manifold's,and i keep getting leaks, the bolts keep backing out, having a very difficult time, anyways,i just ordered the factory metal gaskets from gm,and i will trying again,im going to buy some
1-1/4 bolts and locking washer, will this work for keeping them in there? has anyone put loc tite on these bolts?also should i do anything to the manifold's/gaskets like some kind of sealer inhancer??i need my car to go the beach and back in 2 weeks, and need to keep it from leaking and of course bolts backing out.anyone with some good input please lend me your knowledge thanks alot.

Re: i have a few question's about leaky manifolds

When I installed my headers I had to re-torque all of the bolts about 4 or 5 times(basicly once a week to two weeks). I believe the gasket has to seat from heating up and cooling down.

With stock manifolds and the GM metal gaskets you should be able to
torque them and forget them. That's what I did and 6,000 miles later
everything is fine.

worse case scenario, get yourself some locking header bolts and be done with it. Breslin makes a good set of bolts for about $50.
