Deep sump pans.....

Sup guys.....lotta oil posts and something came to mind. I just ordered a Canton pan for my stroker and was wondering....whats the benifits of a larger pan..really. Does 1 more quart make all the difference. Does it really keep it a lil cooler and cleaner? Cummon gurus.... bring it!

The primary purpose is to help keep the oil from being forced away from the oil pick up tube during high "G" manuvers. Launches, corners, etc.
Also SBC are known for pumping a lot of oil up to the rockers and intake. During extended running the extra oil helps.
There is only a slight benefit to temp. due to the larger volume.
