so how much can you deck lt1 heads before you need to also shave the intake down to compensate for the change in the angle between the intake and heads?

apparently i have a severe vaccum leak due to this. the leak is on the low side of the intake manifold gasket and apparently i need to have my intake machined down. does this sound right?

 

that is right. usually anything over .010 will make a difference... .020 is when you need to start shaving the intake most of the time.

my intake fit with decked heads and a zero decked block with fel pro head gaskets. I was just real careful starting the bolts.
