deck hieght on 383

What is the usual deck hieght on a 383 lt1 that has a untouched deck?

are you asking for deck height or the distance the piston sits down in the cylinder. as stated before stock deck height is 9.025. the distance the piston is down in the cylinder will all depend upon the compression height of the pistons. it will be vastly different from build to build.

You need to mock it up,with the crank 1 rod and piston you will run in the engine... DO NOT guess. Mock up all 4 corners...they are all different.

Have the block square decked.

The thing is that i have my pistons already, im worried that i didnt calculate right the first time what i wanted my compression ratio to be. I wanted 9.0:1 compression or a touch under but i think i got a good bit more than that. I have dish pistions w/ 20.4 cc dish. And 65cc combustion chamber heads. I hate to put the pistons in the motor to calculate if im gonna have to pull them out and resell them.

oh and what i was looking for was the clearance between when the piston is at tdc and the deck on a stroker lt1

...To read David's message. I have .012 difference in deck height from corner to corner on my block from the factory.
